The book deals with the problem of the relationship between power, philosophy and science in Russia in the 20th century. The work of the authorities on the creation of new forms of organization of science in the first years after the revolution of 1917 in the conditions of authoritarianism is traced. The interrelation of political and philosophical orientation, the protest movement of non-Marxist philosophers against the official ideology is revealed. The possibility of achieving positive changes in the political orientation of the scientific intelligentsia is shown. The relationship between power, philosophy and science during the period of the totalitarian regime in the country, the desire of the authorities to turn philosophy and science into servants of politics, to ensure their “partisanship”, to reconstruct science, widely using repressive methods, are being studied. On the example of the tragedy of genetics, the disastrous nature of this reconstruction and the severe consequences of the totalitarian regime for science and philosophy, an irreparable blow to the country's gene pool, are shown. The book reveals the essence of philosophical orientation, its structure, meaning. The author is convinced that only a harmonious, fruitful interaction of power, philosophy and science can contribute to the progressive development of society. The book may be of interest both to specialists in the natural sciences, historians of science, philosophers, political scientists, and to a wide range of readers.
